It’s a free, all-ages community music event created to bring Santa Cruz musicians, families, young artists, local businesses, and music fans together under one roof. Produced by PunkPierce Productions alongside Streetlight Records and The Starving Musician, Sunday Rocks! was built around a simple idea:

Give local music a place to grow.

Santa Cruz has an incredible music history, but opportunities for young and developing artists have become harder to find. Sunday Rocks! is about helping rebuild that pathway by giving newer musicians the chance to share space with experienced local bands, meet people in the scene, gain real performance experience, and feel like they are part of something bigger. But this isn’t only a youth event. Sunday Rocks! is about the entire Santa Cruz music community. It’s musicians supporting musicians. Businesses supporting local art. Parents bringing their kids to discover new bands. Established artists helping the next generation. Friends showing up for friends. And most importantly, you don’t need money to be part of it. Sunday Rocks! is free and all ages, with live music, community partners, giveaways, a free raffle and prizes, and opportunities to connect with the people helping keep Santa Cruz music alive. No velvet ropes. No scene politics. No expensive ticket required. Just a room full of people who love music and want to see the local scene thrive.

Our mission is to create an inclusive, sustainable home for Santa Cruz music where established artists, developing musicians, families, businesses, and fans can come together, build relationships, create opportunities, and strengthen the community around them. Sunday Rocks! isn’t about one band, or one show… and it isn’t about businesses.

It belongs to the community.
